حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ ـ أَوْ، كُنْتُ سَأَلْتُهُ ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏
“‏ مَنْ صَلَّى فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ، فَلْيُخَالِفْ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ ‏”‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever prays in a single garment must cross its ends (over the shoulders).
