حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعَصْرَ فَيَأْتِي الْعَوَالِيَ وَالشَّمْسُ مُرْتَفِعَةٌ. وَزَادَ اللَّيْثُ عَنْ يُونُسَ، وَبُعْدُ الْعَوَالِي أَرْبَعَةُ أَمْيَالٍ أَوْ ثَلاَثَةٌ.
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle used to perform the `Asr prayer and then one could reach the `Awali (a place in the outskirts of Medina) while the sun was still quite high. Narrated Yunus: The distance of the `Awali (from Medina) was four or three miles.
