حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَيَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، – يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ – عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ إِذَا أَذَّنَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَدْبَرَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلَهُ حُصَاصٌ ‏”‏ ‏.‏ Abu Huraira reported:The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When the Mu’adhdhin calls to prayer, Satan runs back vehemently.
