وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَابْنُ، حُجْرٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، – وَهُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ – عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّ ابْنَ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ ‏
“‏ كَإِذْنِهِ “.

Buraida reported on the authority of his father that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) had said:’Abdullah b. Qais or al-Ash’ari has been gifted with a sweet melodious voice out of the voices of the family of David.
